“Let Me Tell You About Halfdreams”, the second part of the exhibition drawn from the mBank Collection donated to the National Museum in Gdańsk, continues and deepens the narrative initiated in the first part, „Let Me Tell You About Myself/About Us”.
Together, these exhibitions reveal the formal and thematic richness of one of the most compelling collections of young Polish painting in recent years.
The works on display form a portrait of a generation that came of age artistically in a world dominated by climate, social and emotional crises, while at the same time striving to find its own language and sensibility.
During the tour you will see works that approach reality through emotion, myth, intuition, imagination and memory. You will discover how open, absorbent and multilayered a medium painting can be, and how it captures transitional states and tensions between the inner and outer worlds.
